Arrowhead Parkway 2017 Phase of Construction Continues
Although the snow may fly, the work continues on Arrowhead Parkway in Sioux Falls as the 2017 phase of construction winds down.
There is more work to come in 2018, but the closing and reopening cycle for Highline Avenue must take place to compensate for the new surface. It’s become a major retail area. Thus fewer delays for that part of the project is optimum.
Asphalt was added on the western stretch of the project from Gordon Drive to Foss Avenue. East of there concrete has been added with other asphalt work continuing to Highway 11/Veteran’s Parkway on the east end.
Cars are directed to stay on the south side of the street as the work continues on the north side.
The desired result is to have six lanes with a median through the area which necessitates the two-year time table. If you’ve been avoiding this area especially during peak traffic times, hope you’ve enjoyed the update.
