Earlier this week, we got word that 'Terminator 5' would set up shop at Paramount Pictures, a new home for the franchise after two lackluster films with Warner Bros. But what did that actually mean for the movie? Sure, it had a new home, but does that actually get us closer to seeing 'Terminator 5' in theaters? It turns out it does. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke out today, confirmed his involvement in 'Terminator 5' and said filming on the sequel is set to begin in January, 2014.

TheArnoldFans.com caught up with Schwarzenegger at the 21st Century Financial Education Summit in Australia and naturally talk came to his upcoming movies. Never one to pass up an opportunity to promote, Arnold revealed that he will return for 'Terminator 5' early next year:

I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in 'Terminator 5' and to star as the Terminator. We start shooting in January and I'm also going to do 'King Conan.' I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films.

Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis are currently working on the 'Terminator 5' script (are they working together or on separate drafts?) but the film doesn't yet have a director. 'Fast and Furious 6' director Justin Lin was once rumored to direct, but after leaving the 'Fast' franchise, he has talked about doing a smaller film before returning to big-budget blockbusters.

There is even less going on with 'King Conan,' a 'Conan the Barbarian' sequel that we haven't heard much about other than Arnold's repeat mentioning of its existence. That movie certainly seems like it's further down the line than 'Terminator 5,' which appears to be slowly gaining steam.
