If you ever needed a good reason to always lock the door in your hotel room, here's one.

A Sioux Falls man was robbed just after midnight on Tuesday, December 1 at the Comfort Inn and Suites at 3208 South Carolyn Avenue.

The victim was in a friend's room at the time of the robbery. His friend has just returned to the room, when minutes later a group off six to eight men entered the room demanding money.

According to police spokesman Sam Clemens, some of the men had handguns with them.

The thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash along with a cell phone before leaving. The victim's friend called police immediately after the incident.

The robbery is still under investigation. No arrests have been made.
