The Fifth Annual Verizon Innovative Learning App Challenge is a contest for middle and high school students, (public, private and parochial) as well as teams representing non-profit organizations, where creativity and teamwork are key, but coding knowledge isn't.

In other words, teams dream up a problem-solving app that would benefit your school or community and if your team should win there are fantastic cash prizes available to really make a difference for your school or organization.

One middle-school team and one high school team from South Dakota will win $5,000 for their schools, groups or clubs and tablets for every team member as Best-in-State winners and then the competition moves on from there.

If your team is one of 8 who win the Best in Nation prize, an additional $15,000 goes to support your school or organization, plus your app idea could be turned into a real, working smartphone app that the world could download and use.

You can learn more about this amazing opportunity, find out how to enter, and get tips on creating a winning idea by going to verizon.com/appchallenge.
