The latest in a long string of counterfeit bills in Sioux Falls turned up on Wednesday at a convenience store in the southern part of the city.

Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says the bogus $20 bill was reported at a Get-N-Go store at 57th and Cliff.

Clemens says counterfeit bills turn up periodically in the city, but he says police don't believe they're related.

Clemens says the discovery of the bills appears to be random, with some turning up in a flurry. He says they have been mostly $20 bills, with a few $10  and $100 bills mixed in.

Clemens says a few of the counterfeit reports have mentioned a suspect, but even those descriptions were different. He also says he hasn't heard of any similarities between the bogus bills or even the serial numbers on them.
