Well, you can add that 'Annie' remake to Jame Foxx's increasingly busy schedule. The Oscar-winning actor is currently in negotiations with Sony to join the project, which will star 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' lead Quvenzhane Wallis as the adorable orphan girl of the title.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Foxx will play the role of Benjamin Stacks (an update on the character of Daddy Warbucks), the wealthy man who adopts Annie. Since "Daddy Warbucks" is the kind of name that sounds like a joke now, it's not surprising that they changed the character's name...although "Benjamin Stacks" is also a hilariously on-the-nose rich guy name.

Foxx's career is on fire right now. He's still riding high from 'Django Unchained' (and probably will for the rest of his career), he's playing the President of the United States in the upcoming 'White House Down' and he's currently filming 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' for which he'll get to play the Marvel supervillain Electro. A role in a kid-friendly crowd-pleaser such as 'Annie' feels like the next possible step on his path to being successful in every genre ever.

'Annie' will be directed by Will Gluck and wil shoot later this year for a 2014 release. The laundry list of producers contains names like Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jay-Z.
