ABERDEEN - More than 30 animal abuse-related charges against a Faulk County woman have been dismissed - at least for now.

The American News reports that charges against 48-year-old Dixie B. Kodet have been dismissed without prejudice. That means they could be refiled at a later date.

Kodet had been charged with two counts of allowing injured or diseased animals to suffer needlessly and 33 counts of inhumane treatment of animals. All of the counts were misdeme

Thirty five rat terrirors were removed from Kodet's rural Faulkton home after authorities discovered them during a probation check. Authorities said the dogs were living inhumane conditions. Two of the dogs were found dead.

The others were taken to the Beadle County Humane Society.
