Andrew Dorff''s Dec. 19 death left the country music community heartbroken. Dan + Shay, Martina McBride and Chase Rice were amongst the first to tweet a kind word about the songwriter. His inner circle was large, as he was a man-in-demand in Music City. These are some of his most well-known songs.

Number one hits for Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes and Kenny Chesney are a part of his catalog. In 2014 he notched back-to-back chart-toppers for Shelton, with "My Eyes" and "Neon Light" each earning Gold certification. By that point, Dorff had already had a Platinum No. 1 with Hayes ("Somebody's Heartbreak") and would soon have another big hit with Chesney's "Save It for a Rainy Day."

Dorff helped write both the Chesney hit and Old Dominion's breakout song "Shut Me Up" with the band's Matt Ramsey and Brad Tursi. While not a smash on traditional radio, the song earned them recognition after getting significant attention on satellite radio. Martina McBride's "Ride" and Ronnie Dunn's "Bleed Red" were other songs he helped write.

Country Stars Remember Andrew Dorff

Album cuts penned by Dorff include a song called "Pickup" on Dierks Bentley's Black album and one called "Love Runs" on Tim McGraw's Damn Country Music album. A few more from his catalog include Justin Moore's "This Kind of Town," Gary Allan's "Do You Wish It Was Me" and "Missing," the current single from William Michael Morgan.

"Our songwriting community is small and close and this loss will hurt us all deeply," National Songwriters Association International president Lee Thomas Miller wrote on Facebook. "Andrew was a good man and a good friend. He was an elite songwriter at the peak of his life and career. Our sincerest prayers go out to his family. May we all hug each other a little tighter this week and remember that life is fragile. Rest in peace Andrew.”

While not a complete list of songs written or co-written by Andrew Dorff, this list shows his impact and how he was indeed at the peak of his career when he died. Dorff's father is songwriter Steve Dorff. His brother is actor Stephen Dorff.
