Are you driving America's most stolen car?

If you drive a Honda Accord you are.

There were 53,995 Honda Accords stolen in the U.S. last year, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau who just released its report on the most stolen cars of 2013.

The Accord was the most stolen model of car by a wide margin according to the report.

Thieves like Honda's evidently. The Honda Civic was the second-most stolen car in the U.S., followed by Chevy pickups, Ford pickups and Toyota Camry's.

Of the cars that were actually made in 2013, Nissan Altimas were the most stolen. Car thieves drove off with a total of 810 Altimas last year.

There is some good news in all this however, car theft is at its lowest point in 46 years. There were fewer than 700,000 car thefts in 2013. That's the lowest number since 1967, and down 50% from 1991.

Oddly enough, the1978 AMC Pacer that I drive went untouched again. What's with these thieves anyway, don't they know a real classic when they see one?
