Alleged Thief’s Pants, ID Lead to Arrest
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Rapid City Police say a man was arrested after his pants containing an ID card in a pocket were found along with stolen property.
The Rapid City Journal reports (http://bit.ly/19fgmes) that 21-year-old Travis Spotted Wolf of Kyle was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of stolen property, grand theft and a parole violation.
Police say officers responded to a Saturday morning call about a garage burglary. Police spokeswoman Tarah Heupel says officers found a trail of stolen property — including Spotted Wolf's pants and ID — throughout the neighborhood.
Police arrested Spotted Wolf at a home where he was staying. Police say a stolen truck and lawn mower were recovered.
Heupel says police are "not sure how or why the pants came off."
