SIOUX FALLS - At approx. 12:00 AM Tuesday morning Sioux Falls Police were advised of a reckless driver in the area of 10th St. and I229.

When officers arrived on scene they observed a pickup truck fitting the description of the vehicle moving eastbound on 10th St. Then truck jumped the median and pulled into the Golden Nugget Casino lot.

The vehicle, a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado, then left the lot jumping the median and turning westbound on 10th, then went southbound on Lowell where police tried to stop the vehicle. The driver refused to stop and turned eastbound on 12th St., then south on Cleveland.

Police briefly suspended the chase when the driver turned off his vehicle lights.

Eventually, the driver lost control of the truck on Tabbert Street, causing the vehicle to jump the curb, hit a tree. The driver continued east before hitting two parked vehicles and the attached garage of a house in the 3200 block of East 18th Street.

The driver, Todd Arnold Tronson, was arrested for drunk driving, eluding police, reckless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance. He is currently being held in the county jail.
