I was writing about my scrapbooking hobby the other day and it occurred to me that scrapbooking is nothing like it was when I was a kid. I would cut out pictures and glue them on the pages. Done. Well not anymore. Now scrapbooking is an activity that involves all kinds of creativity and its devotees are downright fanatical!

If that describes you, boy do I have a fun event for you and you'll be helping out a wonderful organization too! The Longest Day is a lively team fundraising event for the Alzheimer's Association. They encourage people to pick something you love doing, put a team together and do it all day for one day, sunrise to sunset on Saturday, June 21st, the summer solstice and longest day of the summer!

Here in Sioux Falls it will be a Scrapbooking Super Saturday at the Non-Profit Center at 1000 N. West Avenue from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on that Saturday. If you're a scrapbooking fiend this is right up your alley! For only $30 you can spend all day basking in the glory of everything scrapbooking, or only $15 for half a day. Food and refreshments are included so you don't get low on energy during your creativity marathon! Register now by calling (605) 339-4543. For more information click here.

You will be honoring the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease. You'll also be helping to raise funds and awareness to support the mission of the Alzheimer's Association, to eliminate the disease, provide care for those affected and promote brain health.
