RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City has been placed on probation by the group that gives the school its accreditation.

KEVN-TV reports that a public notice from the Higher Learning Commission says the tech school was found to be non-compliant in three areas relating to student learning assessments, performance, and retention and completion rates.

School President Ann Bolman says the school disagrees with the commission's findings. She also says the probation will have no effect on students.

The school must file a plan by June 1 describing how it will meet the accreditation goals. Bolman says she's confident the school will meet those goals.
