ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota High School All-Star Games will no longer be part of the Aberdeen summertime landscape.

The American News reports that the board that organizes the games has decided not to go forward with them.

The summer all-star games for football, basketball and volleyball involve high school graduates from the past spring. They've been played in Aberdeen for nearly three decades.

But officials say interest in them has faded as other all-star events have popped up around the state, and the South Dakota High School Coaches Association earlier this year decided to pull its support.

Board President Ken Wolff says there will continue to be all-star games in South Dakota, just not in a unified fashion in Aberdeen.
