ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Pheasant hunters flocking to South Dakota for this weekend's opener prompted the Aberdeen Regional Airport to add a third weekday flight.

Airport transportation director Michael Wilson tells the Aberdeen American News the extra flight is scheduled Monday through Friday for the next six weeks.

It adds a 12:35 p.m. arrival and a 1 p.m. departure to the daily schedule.

Wilson says hunters have started arriving this week in anticipation of this weekend's pheasant opener.

He says Thursday is typically the biggest travel day before hunting season.
