If you're going through tough times right now and don't think life is worth living,  author Susan Mead shares this message!

While on the fast track in the business world, Susan suffered personal losses, including the suicide of her sister, and witnessed the Boston Marathon Bombing. It was then when Susan made a life changing decision. She began training to become a grief counselor and chaplain.

"When we experience loss, it's so easy to look down and remain within yourself in a dark spot. What I knew was seeing the light of others shining---even if it was way down the path---it gave me a point of reference that I could walk towards it. I figured if I needed it, others do too. Just a point of light for others to follow even if we're stumbling forward together, we're still moving forward. That light is really God shining."

Although it's taken time to recover from her sister's suicide, Susan was determined to focus on her faith in God and that's when she experienced a spiritual transformation.

"You know the most important thing that I believe is that when we look into ourselves and we look at our feet, we're defeated. No pun intended! But, it kind of works that way. When we look up and see the light of God, and hold His hand, (because His hand is reaching out to us all the time) and take it---we step into His word and we trust His word to believe what He says about us and about our situation. It doesn't heal everything immediately. But, it starts softening the hard spots and the ragged edges. It gives us the hope that I can function and move forward. To me it's looking up and letting God have control.

In other words, with faith, nothing is possible. Without faith, nothing is impossible!

"Correct! I just love the little change in perspective. Typically, the situation we're in doesn't change. But, how we look at it and how we proceed and experience does."
