Sioux Falls is currently under a snow alert.

The Public Works Street Division declared a snow alert on Christmas, and plowing will continue until routes are clear.

All vehicles parked on emergency snow routes are subject to immediate ticketing and towing.

Zone 3 in Sioux Falls has already been plowed.

Plowing in Zone 2 the east/west streets began on Saturday, December 26th, 2015, at 8 P.M. All vehicles parked on east/west streets are subject to ticketing and towing until streets have been cleared.

Plowing of north/south streets began on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at 8 A.M. All vehicles parked on north/south streets are subject to ticketing and towing until streets have been plowed curb to curb.

Snow pickup operations in Zone 1 will begin at 1 A.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015. Vehicles parked in Zone 1 will be subject to ticketing and towing between the hours of 1 A.M. and 6 A.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015.

The city also wants to remind property owners that Sioux Falls requires all public sidewalks to be cleared of ice and snow within 48 hours after completion of each snow or ice event. Sidewalks at intersections or crosswalks must also be cleared to the street.
