The fourth annual Big Sioux River Greenway Clean Up was a record setting success the City of Sioux Falls says.

The community volunteer event on April 22 brought out lots of people and removed over three tons of trash. It was a record year for both the number of volunteers and the amount of material collected.

A beautiful Sioux Falls Spring Saturday helped get nearly 500 members of the community to help clean up along the banks of the Big Sioux River along the bike trail.

More than 6,500 pounds of litter were removed from the banks of the Big Sioux River and Skunk Creek at nine different volunteer locations.
