A Message Of Hope From a Sioux Falls Domestic Abuse Survivor

In light of a recent deadly domestic violence incident in Sioux Falls, domestic violence survivor Sandy Parham is sharing her personal testimony in hopes it will inspire victims to seek help.

It's believed four million women are victims of severe assault by their intimate partners annually in the United States and nearly 1 in 4 women are likely to be abused by a partner in her lifetime.

Right here in our community, in 2011, 1,299 abused women and children were sheltered in the Children's Inn.

In 2010, 36% of the murders in South Dakota were a result of domestic violence.
