PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Six more inmates at the state Women's Prison in Pierre had made initial court appearances on charges of ingesting methamphetamine smuggled in and distributed by two fellow inmates.

The Capital Journal reports that a ninth woman pleaded guilty in the case earlier this month. Thirty-three-year-old Loretta Flute is to be sentenced April 29, the same day the other six women who allegedly used the drugs will enter pleas.

A grand jury indicted all nine suspects on felony charges in December.

Thirty-eight-year-old Priscilla Spotted Black Horse and 24-year-old Brittany Aquilar are accused of smuggling and distributing the drugs. They also are scheduled to enter pleas on April 29.
