Patches and wristbands are a thing of the past for Sioux Falls swimmers. Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation is introducing a new season swim pass program using electronic key fobs that allow swimmers quick access to the City’s aquatics facilities.

“This upgrade to our season swim pass program not only benefits the swim pass holders, it also benefits the community,” said Jean Pearson, Recreation Program Coordinator. “Now we can access real-time data on how our aquatics facilities are being used. This will help us better serve the needs of the community now as well as in the future.”

To purchase a new season swim pass, all family members on the pass must have their photos taken at a Community Center or at the Park Office. Key fobs will be issued upon registration, but photos must be taken before the fob is activated and admission into the pools is allowed.

“After the initial set up, the process to renew the swim pass becomes very quick and easy,” said Alicia Luther, Recreation Manager. “Next year, swim pass holders will be able to renew their season swim passes online from the comfort of their homes.”

With the new program, season swim passes will not be available for purchase at any aquatics facilities. To accommodate the needs of the community, and to avoid long lines at the start of the swimming season, the Parks and Recreation Department is starting season swim pass sales two months early.

Running through May 17, season swim passes will be available for purchase from 12 noon to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Kenny Anderson, Kuehn, MariCar, Morningside and Oyate Community Centers.

From May 20 through July 26, season swim passes will be available for purchase from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Kenny Anderson, MariCar and Morningside Community Centers.

On the weekends of May 25-26 and June 1-2 and 8-9, season swim passes will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kuehn, Morningside and Oyate Community Centers.

Season swim passes will also be available for purchase at the Park Office, 100 E. Sixth Street, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of May 27 and July 4.

The cost for a season swim pass is $70 for a family, $45 for an adult (ages 16-54), $30 for a senior (ages 55 and older) and $15 for a child (ages 2-15). Free and reduced-income passes are available for qualified families. Punch passes are also available for $30, which is $6 off of the daily admission price.
