PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Work is scheduled to start this month on an $8.4 million senior living complex in Pierre.

KCCR radio reports that the Edgewood Vista project will include 48 assisted living apartments, 20 apartments for people with memory problems, and amenities including a movie theater, chapel, spa and fitness center.

The complex is scheduled to open in about a year, employing about 30 people.

Pierre Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Jim Protexter says the city now has had four housing projects with more than 200 units either built or planned in the past two years.
