Four cases of counterfeit cash were reported in Sioux Falls over the weekend, but police have not yet determined whether the cases are related.

Spokesman Sam Clemens says bogus 20-dollar bills were reported at the V-I-P Casino on South Cliff Avenue, where they reported two such bills, a Shop N Cart on East 12th Street, Taylor's Pantry on South Minnesota Avenue and Casey's on East 10th Street, where they also had two counterfeit 20s.

Clemens says police don't yet know if the reports are connected, but he says the bogus bills have been tagged in at the department's crime lab, and he says at some point detectives will put all six bills together and compare such details as serial numbers.

Clemens described the quality of the bills as "pretty poor," and he says one of the stores told police the bills were obviously fake.
