A June 2015 murder near the Missouri River west of Vermillion remains unsolved. Officials are raising the stakes to find who committed the crime.

South Dakota’s Attorney General Marty Jackley and the Clay County Sheriff are searching for answers in the homicide of Alicia Hummel. She was found on June 1, 2015 near the boat dock at Myron Grove which is also known as the Highline Area.

Final autopsy reports indicate her cause of death was due to drowning with contributing circumstances of an incised wound to the neck and blunt force injuries to the head.

It has been six months since the 29 year-old from Sioux City died and law enforcement is still investigating the case. As detectives continue to pursue follow-up leads, they ask the public to provide any information that may assist them in this investigation.

An anonymous reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect. Individuals with any information are asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 605-677-7100.
