The Monday snowstorm brought an official total of five inches of snow to Sioux Falls--more than enough for the city to call a snow alert. And not everyone was able to get their vehicle out of the way for the snowplows.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says 346 snow alert tickets were written Monday night.

Clemens says officers were in Zone 2 along with the snowplows Tuesday and Tuesday night, and then they will go to Zone 3, where plowing began Monday night.

He also says that from 8am Monday to 8am Tuesday, 98 vehicle crashes were reported to police - 63 of them between 11am and 8pm Monday.
