RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Law officers have recovered 22 of the 24 guns stolen from The Rooster sporting goods store in Rapid City last week and apprehended three suspects on felony grand theft and weapons charges.

The Rapid City Journal reports that two of the suspects are from Rapid City and the third is from Fairburn.

The burglary happened on Wednesday, prompting reward offers from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Store owner Mike Cummings also decided to stop selling firearms after his business was burglarized for the second time in less than three years.

Authorities believe the suspects were trying to sell the stolen guns.
