MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — Three people are looking to fill an open spot on the Mitchell Board of Education.

The Daily Republic reports that the three applicants will be interviewed Monday. Nathan DeGeest, Renae Gades and Matthew D. Christiansen are interested in becoming the board's fifth member.

Former member Cory Aadland vacated the position to work for the Mitchell School District. The board will interview candidates during a private session.

The person selected to assume Aadland's spot will serve out his term, which sunsets in July 2017.
