Nominees for the 2016 CMT Music Awards were announced on Monday morning (May 9). Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton and Thomas Rhett are among the country stars with multiple nominations for this year's awards.

Underwood received nods for Video of the Year ("Smoke Break"), Female Video of the Year ("Smoke Break") and CMT Performance of the Year ("Smoke Break" during her Instant Jam show), while Stapleton earned Video of the Year ("Fire Away"), Breakthrough Video of the Year ("Fire Away") and CMT Performance of the Year ("Nobody to Blame" at the 2015 CMT Artists of the Year celebration) nominations. Rhett, meanwhile, has nominations for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year (both for "Die a Happy Man"), as well as for CMT Social Superstar.

In addition to Underwood, Stapleton and Rhett, other artists nominated for the 2016 CMT Music Awards include Blake Shelton (Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year, both for "Sangria," and CMT Social Superstar), Cam (Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year, all for "Burning House") and Sam Hunt (Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year, both for "Break Up in a Small Town"). Voting for the 2016 CMT Music Awards is now open, through June 6 at 12:01AM ET. Fans can cast their votes through CMT.com.

The 2016 CMT Music Awards will air live from Nashville on June 8.
