SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls man and woman accused of attacking and kidnapping another woman have pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.

The Argus Leader reports that 32-year-old Donald Wise, of Crooks, and 30-year-old Heather McBeth, of Sioux Falls, appeared in court on Monday. They both could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Authorities allege that Wise and McBeth attacked a woman at a mobile home park last week and then put her in the backseat of a vehicle after she blacked out. Police eventually stopped and arrested Wise and McBeth after a chase.

Prosecutor Randy Sample said in court Monday that the three people at some point used drugs together, and that Wise and McBeth eventually came to believe the victim was a police informant.
