YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — Police officers are being stationed at school buildings in Yankton after two people were arrested at the high school.

Superintendent Wayne Kindle said in a statement to parents that two people entered the high school without permission Thursday afternoon. He says both were approached by staff and later taken into custody.

Kindle did not provide further details but said law officers would be present at school buildings Friday "as a precaution."

Kindle told the Daily Press and Dakotan newspaper that officials expected to hold a news conference later Friday to release more information.
