INWOOD, Iowa (AP) — Two teenage boys have been hospitalized after the car they were in rammed the rear of a school bus in northwest Iowa.

The accident occurred a little after 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in Inwood. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says the Netherlands Reformed Christian School bus had stopped before being hit by the car.

Chief Deputy Jerry Birkey says no one on the bus reported any injuries. The car's 16-year-old driver, Tyler Niemeyer, was taken to a hospital in Canton, South Dakota. His 14-year-old passenger, Caleb Niemeyer, was taken flown to a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The crash is being investigated.
