PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) — Federal officials have arrested two people in the death of a woman found dead on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

The body of 24-year-old Emily Blue Bird was found last Thursday in a creek near Pine Ridge. The mother of two had been missing for nearly three weeks.

Police said a family member had reported giving Blue Bird a ride to her mother's house in Pine Ridge on Jan. 2, and she had not been seen since.

Federal Interior Department spokeswoman Nedra Darling tells the Rapid City Journal that two suspects are in tribal custody. She declined to identify them or the charges they face.
