It's so easy to forget where road construction is going on in Sioux Falls unless you drive through a certain area of it every day.

I live near 41st and Sertoma so I see (and deal with) the construction in that area every day.

But I had to go to the Brennan Rock and Roll Academy Wednesday night for the first of several press conferences around RibFest this weekend and ran into the construction on 12th Street as soon as I got off I-29.

YES I know they've been working on it for months, but it still slipped my mind as I don't use it every day. Same thing with West Russell. That project is going on for two YEARS and I still forget.

So when you're heading to RibFest at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls (today through Sunday) just keep in mind about the construction on 12th and keep your cool since music starts around normal 'rush hour' on Thursday and Friday, there will be some delays if you go to the grounds that way (or leave that way when the concerts are done)

But if you head north out of the Fairgrounds onto Madison, you won't run into the same issues and can still head west to I-29 or east to Kiwanis, Western Avenue and West Avenue.

RibFest gates open today at 4pm. Music starts shortly after with The Dirty Word Band (who will also be playing the official after-party downtown at Wileys at 6th & Main tonight) Helix goes on at 5pm followed by Honeymoon Suite at 6:30, April Wine at 8 and Loverboy at 9:30.
